Sunshine, Smiles and Community Spirit – LS29 Festival Was a Huge Success

What a day!

Our LS29 Festival Weekend turned out to be everything we hoped for and more. With the sun shining brightly from start to finish, families came together to enjoy a truly inclusive, welcoming and relaxed event filled with laughter, connection and fun.

From the moment people arrived, there was a real sense of community and positivity in the air. One comment we heard again and again throughout the day was:

“What a fantastic day this has been – it’s just what we needed.”

The festival brought together children, young people, parents, carers and volunteers in a space where everyone could feel comfortable, included and able to enjoy themselves in their own way. Whether families wanted to join in with activities, relax in quieter spaces, enjoy entertainment, spend time with friends or simply soak up the atmosphere, there was something for everyone.

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing so many different choices and activities available, making it possible for families with a wide range of additional needs and preferences to take part comfortably. The relaxed and understanding atmosphere meant people could enjoy the day without pressure or judgement, something that means so much to many of our families.

Events like this remind us why LS29 has been such an important part of the community for over 20 years. As a parent-led charity supporting families of children and young people with additional needs, creating opportunities for connection, belonging and joy sits at the heart of everything we do.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the festival such a success - our volunteers, supporters, activity providers, partners and of course all the wonderful families who came along and made the weekend so special. The smiles, conversations, dancing, laughter and shared moments will stay with us for a long time.
